It's the day before the majority of the team journey out to LA, but the management team are on the move and now in place to welcome the team in and get them settled. Below is a small selection of photos from Day 0 of the LA Tour.
6:30am at Manchester awaiting flights out to LAX via Chicago. Security at Manchester was fine, if a little repetative. 8 hours of fairly smooth flying over to O'Hare airport, followed by long queues into immigration, then a dash to catch our connecting flight to LAX. Arrived around 6pm local time (2am British).
The outside of De Neve Plaza on the UCLA campus where the team is stopping, arrived here around 7pm after driving down Sunset Bvld, past parts of Bel Air and around downtown LA.
All tour members are in study hall rooms with 2 people sharing a bedroom and their own shower rooms...
... which put most British student accomodation to shame ;) Showers are spacious, even for the D line...
Outside the window at night. Campus is fairly quiet at the moment, fresher's are due to arrive this weekend (we believe) but there are still a few people around using the fantastic sports facilities.
On the search for food and the local area, having popped past Rodeo Drive, we head out to see the local area and get some food. By this time we've been on the go for 24+ hours straight.
Sunrise over UCLA on the morning of the 25th. In the centre is the middle of campus (see the satelite photos - it's the big white square building with the UCLA logo on the roof), down to the right is one of the football practice fields, and along the skyline we've the surrounding hills and parts of the cityscape.
The rest of the team is currently enroute in the air and we're anticipating their arrival from this afternoon onwards. More later today.
